So here I am, trapped in the woods with no weed and no contacts. I find it easier that way because there?s no way I can trick myself out of this situation.

Firstly, what I will do when watching a video replay, is watch the race in its entirety at ?full speed?. On this run through, I will get a feel for what the pace of the race was like and whether the field settled in basically the order I expected them to. ie. Did the horse lead that was expected to, did any horses miss the start etc. Also during this run through, I will note any horses that were trapped wide, and also where the eventual winner of the race was positioned in the run.

Fun facts:   

Mushrooms are a good source of vitamin D in the wintertime.  Combine that ish with local butter for calcium to help assimilation.  More like calci-yum! 

Crushed red pepper contains vitamins of the A, B, and C complexes and is also a powerful medicine, increasing circulation and improving blood pressure (take that, Cheerios). 

This was a total win-win competition.

Pastillas de leche are sweet water buffalo milk candies. All my life, I heard stories about carabao but never thought them to be the same thing as water buffalo. I’m interested in the Philippines’ lack of cheese culture. The humid and tropical climate doesn’t really allow for much artisanal aging; so all milks are either sweetened or made into fresh white cheese. You’ll also notice a heavy use of condensed milk around here, most Filipinos are lactose intolerant! Fresh milk doesn’t last long here, so they use ruminant animals for farm labor instead.

Anyway! My fascination with water buffalo milk is that they won’t yield unless they are soaking and cuddling a spouse or child. I’ve nicknamed any water buffalo milk product as “diva.” So I have two tubs of diva milk candy.
